Your presenters record their voice tracks on their own computer, in the browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari), as precisely as in the studio. Every voice track reaches the playlist ready for air.
The day's playlist and its planned “Voice Track” slots. The end of the outgoing song and the start of the next one in your headphones, multiple takes, overlaps, trimming and volume points.
The voice track enters the playlist just like one recorded in the studio: level matched to the music, slot replaced. Its effect on the hour is shown before sending (±5 s at the top of the hour). If the playlist has changed in the meantime, it waits to be placed again: never inserted blindly.
The hour's audio excerpts stay on the computer: presenters record offline, and sending resumes on its own when the connection returns.
On a phone: the song on air, the gap to the next top of the hour and studio alerts by notification and e-mail (silent studio, playout stopped, hour drifting, stream down).
The presenter's microphone reaches the studio console, after a guided connection test. If the connection weakens, the automation takes the air back on its own.

A second Phoenix workstation stands by next to the on-air PC. If it stops — no more heartbeat, no more sound — the backup PC takes over on its own, right where the station was, on time. Only one workstation plays at a time.
No heartbeat from the on-air PC for 20 s and a silent off-air feed for 10 s: the backup PC resumes the playlist on time (GAP 0), with the stream. Adjustable delays.
The backup listens to the air through a sound card input or the stream. As long as there is sound, a broken network does not make it switch: it raises an alert.
Every takeover is numbered and written to disk before playing. A workstation that hears a more recent number goes silent at once.
The backup plays on the studio database if it answers, otherwise on its local read-only copy. Its plays are replayed into the studio database on return.
If the media library sits on the on-air PC, the backup copies in advance what the playlist will play over the next six hours.
The on-air PC, once back, waits. It takes the air back with a confirmed action, at the end of the current item.
